ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jessica Lauren Russell Headley
Pianist. Instructor. Composer.
Jessica has her Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma.
She has played in various settings in the United States as well as Europe. Because of her diverse background and travels, Jessica is inspired by many cultures and brings new perspectives to every performance.
Jessica was not only awarded a research grant from the University of Central Oklahoma for her work on Synesthesia, but also received First Place at the College Music Society Competition 2012 for her composition, The Spectrum Suite for solo piano and watercolor painter. She has composed several other works for piano and strings and continues to write music today.
Jessica is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association and currently serves as the VP of Membership on the Executive Board of the Oklahoma Music Teachers Association, as well as serves as a member of the Board of Kamp Keyboard. Jessica is also a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through MTNA.
Jessica has taught piano since 2009 and has a true passion for teaching.
She has completed an intensive internship in Piano Pedagogy at the University of Central Oklahoma, and has many approaches to bring to each lesson. Her goal is to ensure nothing but the most enriching experience for each of her students.
Jessica believes that each student learns differently and that the student should be taught according to his or her learning style.
More than anything, Jessica wants to create the most effective environment for her students to grow in and succeed as artists.
